SSGI MCA FAQs
Ques. Is MCA from an AKTU-affiliated college valid for software industry jobs?
Ans. Yes. AKTU, previously known as UPTU, is a major technical university recognised by UGC and AICTE. An MCA from an AKTU-affiliated institution is accepted by most private sector IT employers including services companies, product firms, and BPO operations. Graduates are eligible for roles such as software developer, system analyst, database administrator, and IT consultant. The degree also qualifies holders for UP state government technical service examinations that specify MCA as the minimum educational requirement.
Ques. What subjects does the SSGI MCA programme cover?
Ans. The AKTU MCA curriculum at SSGI covers advanced programming using Java and Python, software engineering methodologies, database management with SQL and NoSQL systems, computer networks, operating systems, cloud computing concepts, web application development, and artificial intelligence fundamentals. The programme spans four semesters over two years, with the final semester dedicated to a project in which students build and deploy a production-quality software system under faculty supervision.
Ques. What CUET-PG score is needed for MCA admission at SSGI?
Ans. SSGI does not publish a minimum CUET-PG cut-off score for MCA. Admission is based on CUET-PG merit ranking, and the effective cut-off varies each year with the number of applicants and available seats. Since SSGI is a private AKTU-affiliated institution, candidates with moderate CUET-PG scores who meet the 50% graduation eligibility criteria generally have a reasonable chance of securing admission during counselling rounds.
Ques. Can a B.Com or BA graduate apply for MCA at SSGI?
Ans. MCA admission at AKTU-affiliated institutions generally requires a background in Computer Science, IT, or Mathematics at the graduation level. A BCA, B.Sc (CS, IT, or Mathematics) is the standard qualifying degree. B.Com or BA graduates without Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 or graduation level typically do not meet AKTU’s MCA eligibility criteria. Candidates should verify current AKTU eligibility guidelines before applying to avoid ineligibility at the counselling stage.
Ques. What career options are available after MCA from SSGI?
Ans. After MCA, graduates can pursue careers as software developers, web application engineers, database administrators, IT project analysts, and system engineers in the private sector. Government employment options include technical roles in PSUs and state IT departments. Some graduates also pursue PhD in Computer Science after MCA. The Lucknow IT corridor, including BPO and IT services firms, provides entry-level opportunities for AKTU MCA graduates from the Lucknow region.
Ques. Are there scholarships available for MCA students at SSGI Lucknow?
Ans. MCA students at SSGI who belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC, or Economically Weaker Section categories are eligible for the GOI Post-Matric Scholarship and the Uttar Pradesh State Scholarship Scheme through the NSP and scholarship.up.gov.in portals. The PM-USHA scholarship under the National Scholarship Portal is also available for eligible students from economically weaker families. Benefit amounts are determined annually by government authorities and vary by category and household income criteria.
