Eligibility

Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Science in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.

GATE or UGC-NET/CSIR-NET qualification is preferred and is required for HTRA stipend eligibility.

SC/ST/PwD candidates are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks.

Sponsored candidates deputed by engineering institutions or public sector organisations may apply subject to supervisor availability in the CSE department.

Admission Process

Visit the official NITTTR Kolkata website at nitttrkol.ac.in to check for the Ph.D. admission notification and download the application form.

Submit the completed application with academic certificates, transcripts, and a research proposal as specified in the notification.

Shortlisted applicants are invited to the institute for a Written Research Aptitude Test assessing research methodology and computing fundamentals.

Candidates who qualify the written test appear for a Personal Interview conducted by the doctoral selection committee at NITTTR Kolkata.

Final selection is based on academic merit, GATE or NET qualification status, and performance in the interview.

Selected candidates complete document verification and fee payment at NITTTR Kolkata before the academic session commences in January 2027.
