Pailan College of Management and Technology Kolkata B.Tech {Lateral} Electronics & Communication Engineering: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. Candidates must hold a Diploma in Engineering or Technology in a relevant engineering stream from an AICTE-approved polytechnic with at least 45 percent aggregate marks (40 percent for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and PwD candidates). Alternatively, B.Sc graduates with 45 percent marks and Mathematics at the 10+2 level are also eligible.

Ans. Admission is through JELET (Joint Entrance Lateral Entry Test), conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). JELET 2026 is scheduled for June 13, 2026. Candidates must apply through the WBJEEB portal at wbjeeb.in between March 19 and April 11, 2026.

Ans. The total course fee for the three-year B.Tech Lateral Entry programme is ₹1,90,000. The fee covers the second, third, and fourth years of the B.Tech degree. Students from SC, ST, and OBC categories may apply for West Bengal government scholarships to offset costs.

Ans. After JELET results are declared in August 2026, WBJEEB conducts centralised counselling from October to December 2026. Candidates register for counselling, fill in college and branch preferences, and receive an allotment letter. Candidates allotted to Pailan College must report with original documents within the notified period.

Ans. The MAKAUT B.Tech ECE curriculum covers Digital Electronics, Signals and Systems, Microprocessors and Embedded Systems, Analog and Digital Communication, VLSI Design, Microwave Engineering, and Optical Fibre Communication.
