Andhra University, established in 1926, is one of the oldest institutes in India for Higher Education and the first residential and teaching-cum-affiliating University in India. The University runs as many as 313 courses in Arts, Science and Technology, Commerce, Engineering, Management, Law, Pharmacy and Education.
The admission process to the UG programs generally starts in the month of April every year. The admission to PG programs is conducted from March onwards. The selection criteria for admission to the programs range from marks scored in qualifying examination to performance in state-level or university-level entrance examinations. The University conducts AUCET for admission to a majority of PG programs offered at its departments. Admission to Integrated B.Tech.+M.Tech. and other B.Tech. programs, the University takes admission through AUEET. Some of the other examinations through which the University takes admission are APICET for MBA and MCA courses, AP LAWCET for admission to Law courses, and AURCET for Research courses.
The University follows the reservation Policy as laid down by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The University has 85% of seats reserved for local candidates. The University also has 33.33% of total seats available reserved for women candidates.

The University offers a limited number of Bachelor’s courses in the disciplines of Law, Performance and Fine Arts, Education, and Architecture. The admission process for these courses begins in the month of April every year. The general eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is given below:
|BFA/BPA||Must have passed HSC or 10+2|
|B.Arch.||Must have passed HSC or 10+2 with Mathematics and English|
|B.Ed./LLB||Must have a graduate degree in any discipline|
The admission to BFA and BPA program is through AUCET. For admission to B.Ed., University conducts Education Common Entrance Test. The University offers a total of 16 courses in Engineering and Technology discipline. A candidate must have passed HSC examination or 10+2 or any other equivalent degree with Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics in order to apply for B.Tech.+M.Tech courses at Andhra University.
The admission to 6 years integrated B.Tech – M.Tech courses is through AUEET. It is an entrance test conducted by Andhra University. The test is of 90 minutes duration and consists of 100 objective type questions.

The University offers Master degree in both Business Administration and Computer Applications. The general eligibility required for application to MBA and MCA programs at Andhra University is given below:

The University offers both Full-time and Part-time M.Phil. and PhD courses. The general requirement for admission to these programs is a Post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks.
For admission to research programs, the University conducts a separate entrance test, i.e., AURCET. AURCET consists of two papers, each of which contain multiple-choice type questions.
