MGMCET Admission Dates 2026

Admissions for the 2026-27 academic session are governed by MHT CET 2026 (for BE) and GATE 2026 (for ME) through DTE Maharashtra CAP rounds. The CAP allotment process is currently underway.

MGMCET Courses and Fees

MGMCET Navi Mumbai offers engineering programmes at the UG and PG levels across traditional and emerging technology disciplines. BE is the flagship offering with 11 specialisations and a uniform fee structure across all branches.

BE specialisations span traditional engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecom, Biomedical) and technology-focused tracks (Computer Engineering, AI and Machine Learning, Data Science, Information Technology, Robotics and Automation). All 11 specialisations carry the same year-wise fee: the branch choice does not affect the fee paid. GATE-qualified ME students may additionally receive an AICTE stipend of INR 12,400 per month.

MGMCET Admission Process

MGMCET BE admission follows two parallel routes. The first is the DTE Maharashtra CAP route (80% of seats), where students are allotted seats based on MHT CET or JEE Main scores. The second is the Management Quota route (20% of seats), filled directly by MGMCET without a CAP rank requirement.

BE Admission

• Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised board. Minimum 50% aggregate (45% for Maharashtra reserved categories).
• CAP route: Register on cetcell.mahacet.org after MHT CET result. Fill college and branch preferences. Accept round-wise allotment and pay confirmation fee. Report to MGMCET with original documents for verification.
• Management Quota: Apply directly through MGMCET. No MHT CET or JEE Main score required. Eligibility norms (50% in PCM) apply.
• Lateral Entry (2nd year): Diploma holders with min 45% marks may join through the MH DECT counselling process via DTE Maharashtra.

MHT CET 2024 Open category closing percentile at MGMCET ranged from approximately 62.25 to 88.19, depending on branch. Computer Engineering and IT branches typically close at higher percentiles. The overall CAP closing percentile across all categories and branches (Round 4, 2025 data) was 3.53 to 91.42.

ME Admission

• Eligibility: BE or B.Tech in a relevant engineering branch from a recognised university, with minimum 50% aggregate (45% for reserved categories).
• Selection: GATE score or MH PGCET rank via DTE Maharashtra ME CAP rounds at cetcell.mahacet.org.
• Specialisations: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Structural Engineering.

MGMCET Placements

MGMCET Navi Mumbai conducts campus placements with participation from IT, manufacturing, and engineering service companies. The Navi Mumbai location gives students access to recruiters from the nearby IT parks and industrial zones.

In the 2024 placement season, the highest package stood at INR 20 LPA. The median package was INR 3.5 LPA. A total of 102 students were placed from the batch. Placement outcomes are strongest for Computer Engineering, IT, and Electronics and Telecom branches.

Civil and Chemical Engineering branches have seen comparatively fewer campus placements, with graduates in these streams typically pursuing government jobs, higher studies, or self-employment. Alumni from Computer Engineering and IT branches are active in Navi Mumbai’s IT sector and have contributed to a growing referral network with recurring recruiters.

MGMCET Rankings

MGMCET Navi Mumbai participates in the NIRF India Rankings and holds a position among the top engineering institutes in the western region.

MGMCET’s NIRF rank of 57 nationally and 16 in the West Zone reflects its standing as a mid-tier private engineering college in Maharashtra, competing primarily with other AICTE-approved private colleges in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

MGMCET Scholarships

MGMCET students are eligible for Maharashtra state scholarship schemes and central government scholarship programmes. The college’s parent trust, Mahatma Gandhi Mission, also offers institution-level merit support.

MGMCET Campus and Infrastructure

MGMCET is located at Kamothe, Navi Mumbai, in Raigad district. The campus is well-connected to Navi Mumbai’s IT and industrial zones, making daily commutes to internship and placement locations practical for students.

The college maintains separate hostel blocks for boys and girls, with annual hostel fees of up to INR 1,70,000 inclusive of accommodation and meals. Students from outside Navi Mumbai are encouraged to apply for hostel accommodation at the time of admission. Campus facilities include departmental laboratories for all 11 BE branches, a central library, and sports grounds.

The proximity to Navi Mumbai’s tech corridor is frequently cited by alumni as a practical advantage, with IT companies in Mahape, Airoli, and Belapur accessible for internships and recruitment drives.

MGMCET vs Pillai College of Engineering vs LTCE Navi Mumbai

Aspirants shortlisting private engineering colleges in the Navi Mumbai and Mumbai Metropolitan Region often compare MGMCET with Pillai College of Engineering (New Panvel) and Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering (Navi Mumbai), all of which admit via MHT CET and Maharashtra CAP rounds.

MGMCET’s NIRF rank of 57 gives it a credential advantage over most other private engineering colleges in Navi Mumbai that are not in the NIRF Top 175. Pillai College of Engineering is known for its active student clubs and industry connect in New Panvel, while LTCE Navi Mumbai has a strong alumni network from its long presence in Koparkhairane.
