Eligibility Criteria

Passed 3-year polytechnic diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an allied branch recognised by AKTU with minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST candidates from Uttar Pradesh).

No separate entrance examination is required for lateral entry. Admission is merit-based on diploma aggregate percentage through UPTAC 2026 lateral entry counselling at uptac.samarth.edu.in.

Candidates must upload diploma marksheets, domicile certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), and a character certificate from the previous institution on the UPTAC portal.

Admission Process

UPTAC 2026 lateral entry registration closed on June 30, 2026 at uptac.samarth.edu.in. Registered candidates were ranked by diploma aggregate and participated in allotment rounds from June 27, 2026.

Regular counselling concluded with Round 4 seat allotment on July 11, 2026. Candidates who received allotment confirmed admission with document verification and fee payment between July 14 and 16, 2026.

Special Round 1 seat allotment was released on August 18, 2026. Candidates allotted in Special Round 1 completed physical reporting at Trident Ghaziabad between August 19 and 21, 2026.

Special Round 2 choice filling is currently open from August 19 to 23, 2026 at uptac.samarth.edu.in. Eligible registered candidates must fill and lock branch and college preferences before the August 23 deadline.

Report to Trident Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, with original diploma marksheets, identity proof, and fee payment to confirm admission to the second year of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering for 2026-27.
