NSD Diploma Dramatic Arts: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

The National School of Drama (NSD) offers an affordable three-year Diploma in Dramatic Arts, with total fees approximately INR 17,190, covering tuition, admission, and other charges. Additional costs include a stationery fee of INR 2,500, and optional hostel accommodation at INR 27,000 annually. The admission process requires a graduate degree and at least six theatre productions, with an initial audition in cities like New Delhi and Mumbai, followed by a workshop in New Delhi.

The selection emphasizes learning attitude and teamwork. Applicants pay an online fee of INR 50 or INR 225 offline. The school provides a monthly scholarship of INR 6,000 and covers travel and dearness allowances for final selection candidates. With only 27 seats available per batch, competition is intense, and a recommendation letter is advantageous. NSD’s faculty is experienced and includes Padmashree awardees and individuals with international expertise, offering a blend of online and offline teaching.

Although NSD does not provide direct placements, its training prepares students for careers in acting and production, with notable alumni like Anupam Kher and Irfan Khan. Scholarships of INR 8,000 and INR 3,000 per month are available, subject to conditions, but educational loan assistance is not provided.
