There is a good placement opportunity for other branches. Big IT companies come for CSE students. Also, for the mechanical and ECE branch, many companies come and hire almost every other student. For the civil branch, there is no placement at all. Earlier, companies would come for civil, but sooner students got themselves into government jobs. So they stopped sitting for placements. Students can sit for the placements in 4th year (7th sem). Companies provide almost 100% placement offers to CSE students. The highest package offered was about Rs. 12 lakhs in a marketing company. I am willing to appear for government jobs.
It is quite an affordable college for the ones with low ranks and low scores in JEE Mains. The admission is done in accordance with the JEE scores and ranks with different eligibility criteria for different branches. The admission process usually starts in the month of July. I had a low rank in JEE mains so I searched for the government colleges I would have got at my score. I then searched and founded this college having very low fees and good facilities with a good reputation (looked at collegedunia.com).
Placements here are not so good as only 50-60% of student got placed in CSE branch with the highest package of 15 lakhs and average around 6 lakhs so didn't expect too much if you are here for this. It will be the best choice if you planning for further studies.
It's a government college and affordable too as you can get admission in it by getting 30-60k rank in jee main. Its counseling is done by JAC Chandigarh. Its placement is not too good enough as only 50-60% of students got placed with the highest package of 15 lakhs and average around 6 lakhs. You can prefer this college if you are willing for further studies. Infrastructure is good and the college is spending its fund to improve it.
The placement of CSE is impressive highest placement this year was 15 lac but in the upcoming two, three years it may go upto 40 to 50 lakh. 80 to 90 % of students getting placed every year in CSE. For more updates on placement related you can check the LinkedIn profile of CCET.
I choose Chandigarh College Of Engineering and Technology as It is affiliated with PU(Punjab University). It has a great campus. The good thing is that it is a very cheap college with an only little amount of money you have to pay. There are many scholarships given to Students like for first to the third ranker get fully rebate on tuition fee and fourth to sixth you will get a 50 % rebate which is very good. Teachers are very well qualified. I think almost all teachers are PhDs.Teachers are very supportive A lot of cultural activities are organized by our college. The admission process is simple you have to apply for JAC CHANDIGARH (just like JOSAA). Depending upon your JEE mains rank and another merit you will get a seat. There is not much gathering only 60 to 70 students per course which is a good side. For admission and registering for JAC Chandigarh Counselling you have to go to their official website and if you want to know about the college you should visit the first college website (ccet.ac.in) first.
I chose this college because I was not able to get admission in pec and this college was the only option. Academics wise its good. Faculties are good. The bad side is the college life you expect its almost zero there. No social life. There are only 5-600 students in the campus. And pretty bad cafeteria.
To get the admission here you have to appear for jee mains. And according to the cutoffs you will get the admission. I prepared for it with my normal tutions.
Because my college is best in diploma in whole North India and teachers are very nice and fees is very affordable the website of my college is www. ccet. ac. in they teach us valuable things and best labs and workshops and people are very nice and student also but the bad thing here is attendance is very strict and send the letter if you not attending the class but the environment is very nice.
The one who want to get admission in this college they must apply online and then the college staff select the student and then called the student to college.
- Government College in Chandigarh- Affordable Fees (27-30k per semester)- Location of the campus- Being Diploma Student, you get directly admission to 2nd year after LEET exam- Placement was pretty decent- Faculty was good and infrastructure was pretty good.- Extra Circular activities like dramatics, music, arts, NCC, NSS clubs- Hostel Facilities with food in campus- The quality of peer students
My opinion on the college would be poor. It needs alot of development in academic and teaching quality. Involvement with the students is minor. The students are confused an remain unguided thouroughout their degree. Alot of inspection and development required
Ques. Which one is better: UIET Chandigarh's IT or CCET's CSE?
● Top Answer By Sumit Sengupta on 08 Jun 21
Ans.UIET and CCET are colleges situated in the same city. This makes them quite similar. The only varying factors are placement and campus life. I have my friends in both of the colleges and they have mentioned a few points which may help you to find a better college out of both.
As the location of both the colleges is beautiful, both of the colleges get equal points here.
The campus life of UIET is lively and you will get to enjoy university life there. Moreover, I have heard from my friends that students from CCET come to UIET campus to hang out and enjoy the ambiance. The students of CCET have to come to Punjab University for many formalities. Thus, UIET wins a point here as well.
UIET and CCET have almost the same average package yet, UIET is seen offering a somewhat higher amount than CCET. The placement record for IT at UIET is unbeatable.
Now, let’s look at the recent placement statistics of CCET and UIET.
Go through these factors and choose the college according to your requirements and expectations. Read more
Ques. What should I opt for, an ECE at UIET Chandigarh or a CSE at CCET?
● Top Answer By Harpreet Kaur on 28 May 21
Ans.If you are eligible for both streams, it is important to keep in mind that both are tier 2 colleges. According to my friends at the institutes, these colleges don’t see many core companies in the campus placement even for the CSE branch. Most of the recruiting companies are IT consultancies or Tech Support.
Hence, if you opt for ECE in UIET you will probably end up working in Deloitte or Infosys, or MU-Sigma. Therefore, it is advisable to stay close to the main campus of PU. This will also help you in enjoying your college life to the fullest.
While on the other hand, if you are passionate about coding and want to become a software engineer, then UIET and CCET, both see various kinds of young startups that recruit Software Developers as well as Designers. If this is the case, you must opt for CSE in CCET as a lot of subjects that are required for software development are not taken up in ECE because of PU’s curriculum, for example, AI, Data Structures, DBMS are considered only in CSE but not in ECE.Read more
Ques. Should I take aerospace in PEC or CS in CCET Chandigarh?
● Top Answer By Khushi Chitra on 04 May 21
Ans.It totally depends on your career interest. In India, there are very few jobs in the aerospace industry than in Computer Science Engineering. However, you should definitely pursue ‘Aerospace Engineering' at PEC University.
Aerospace in PEC
Aerospace Engineering (PEC University) is an excellent choice. It has a good reputation, personal development opportunities, better placements, and experienced faculty members.
Companies providing placement are Airbus, Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, Bell Helicopter, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, Rockwell Collins, etc.
CS in CCET Chandigarh
Computer Science from CCET, Chandigarh, on the other hand, is not a good option. It is not as well-known as PEC University.
Campus placements are limited. CSE is now equivalent to MCA, and MCA graduates can apply for the same job as a Computer Science engineer.
Companies Provided placements are Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant Accenture, and many more.
Aerospace Engineering at PEC Chandigarh
CS at CCET Chandigarh
JP Morgan, McKinsey, DRDO, HAL, Sukra Helitek, etc.
Mahindra, TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, etc.

From the study point of view, there is not much difference between these two colleges. Read more
