Prayag Institute of Technology & Management Allahabad B.Tech {Lateral} Electrical Engineering: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. The total fee for the 3-year B.Tech Lateral Entry in Electrical Engineering at PITM is INR 1,84,000 for the complete course. This covers three years of study from the second year through the fourth year of the B.Tech programme. SC/ST and OBC students with UP domicile may also be eligible for state scholarship reimbursement on top of this.

Ans. Diploma holders in Electrical Engineering must qualify JEECUP (Group B), the UP Polytechnic entrance exam for lateral entry. BSc graduates with Mathematics at Class 12 may use their CUET-UG score. Seat allotment for both categories is done through UPTAC, the UP Technical Admission Counselling body, on the official UPTAC portal at uptac.samarth.edu.in.

Ans. Yes, PITM is affiliated with AKTU (Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University), Lucknow and is AICTE approved. The B.Tech degree awarded on completion of the lateral entry programme is an AKTU degree, valid for GATE examination, government job applications, and postgraduate admissions at AKTU-recognised universities.

Ans. Candidates must have passed Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates from Uttar Pradesh) from a BTEUP-recognised polytechnic institution. There is no upper age restriction for this programme. Lateral entry is directly into the second year of the B.Tech Electrical Engineering programme.

Ans. UPTAC 2026 conducted Round 1 seat allotment on June 27, 2026 and Round 2 on July 3, 2026. Round 3 choice filling is open from July 6 to 7, 2026, with allotment on July 9.
