Ques. What is the difference between BCA in Cloud Computing and BCA in FinTech at MRU, and which one should I choose?
Ans. Both programmes have the same fee structure (Rs. 2,41,800 per year) and duration (3+1 years). BCA in Cloud Computing (Google Cloud) focuses on cloud infrastructure, virtualization, cloud security, DevOps, and cloud application development, with certifications from Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure. BCA in FinTech (KPMG) focuses on financial technology, digital payments, blockchain in finance, data analytics for finance, and regulatory compliance. If you are interested in IT infrastructure and cloud careers (Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Architect), choose Cloud Computing. If you are interested in the intersection of finance and technology (FinTech Analyst, Digital Banking, Payments Technology), choose FinTech.
Ques. Is BCA from MRU equivalent to a B.Tech/B.E. degree, and can BCA graduates pursue M.Tech or MBA?
Ans. BCA is a Bachelor of Computer Applications degree and is not equivalent to B.Tech/B.E. in terms of engineering credentials. However, BCA graduates from MRU can pursue MCA (Master of Computer Applications), MBA, or M.Sc. in Computer Science for higher studies. BCA graduates are not eligible for M.Tech programmes that require a B.Tech/B.E. degree. For government jobs requiring a computer science degree, BCA is generally accepted for IT-related positions. Students who want to pursue M.Tech should consider B.Tech instead of BCA.
Ques. What is the placement scenario for BCA graduates from MRU, and what salary can I expect?
Ans. MRU's CRCDC (Corporate Resource and Career Development Centre) facilitates campus placements for BCA students. Companies such as Cognizant, Infosys, HCLTech, Wipro, and various IT startups recruit BCA graduates for roles such as Software Developer, Cloud Support Associate, Junior Data Analyst, and IT Support Engineer. Starting salaries for BCA graduates typically range from Rs. 3.5 to Rs. 6 LPA, with higher packages for students who have earned cloud certifications (Google Cloud, AWS) or have strong programming skills. The highest package reported for BCA Cloud Computing graduates at MRU has reached Rs. 10 LPA.
Ques. Can I get admission to BCA at MRU without appearing for MRNAT? Are there other ways to apply?
Ans. Yes, MRNAT is not the only route. MRU also accepts CUET 2026, JEE Main 2026, and SAT scores for admission. Students who have not appeared for any of these exams can still apply directly through the university's admissions portal (apply.manavrachna.edu.in) and may be considered for admission based on 12th marks merit, subject to seat availability. However, appearing for MRNAT is strongly recommended as it also serves as a scholarship test, potentially offering up to 100% tuition fee waiver based on performance.

Ans. Ques. Is the BCA programme at MRU suitable for students from Commerce or Arts backgrounds, and will they face difficulty with the technical content?
Ans. Yes, BCA at MRU is open to students from all streams (Science, Commerce, Arts) with a minimum of 50% marks in 12th. The programme is designed to start from foundational concepts, so students without a prior science background are not at a disadvantage. The first semester covers basics like C Programming, Mathematical Foundations, and Operating System Fundamentals, which are taught from scratch. However, students from non-science backgrounds should be prepared to invest extra effort in programming and mathematics in the initial semesters.
