Ques. What is the difference between B.Tech CSE (Hons.) AI & ML and regular B.Tech CSE at MRU?
Ans. The regular B.Tech CSE is a 4-year programme covering core computer science subjects without a specific industry specialisation. The B.Tech CSE (Hons.) AI & ML is also 4 years but includes an additional Honours specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, co-designed and co-certified by Xebia and HCL Guvi. The Hons. variant includes dedicated AI/ML subjects like Machine Learning, Neural Networks & Fuzzy Logic, Data Warehousing and Data Mining, Image Processing, and Information Retrieval, along with direct learning sessions from Xebia industry experts, industrial visits, and remote/onsite internship opportunities with Xebia or their clients. The fee for the Hons. variant is higher due to the training partner fee component.

Ans. Ans. Yes. B.Tech CSE (Hons.) AI & ML focuses on the broader spectrum of artificial intelligence and machine learning - covering classical ML algorithms, neural networks, data mining, image processing, and NLP. B.Tech CSE (Hons.) Generative AI is a newer specialisation focused specifically on generative models like GANs, diffusion models, large language models (LLMs), and AI content generation. Both are 4-year programmes with industry partnerships, but Generative AI is more focused on the cutting-edge subset of AI that powers tools like ChatGPT, DALL-E, and Midjourney. Students interested in a broader AI/ML foundation should choose AI & ML, while those specifically interested in generative models and LLMs should consider the Generative AI specialisation.
