MRU B.Tech Cyber Security FAQs

Ques. What is the role of Cisco in this programme, and what certifications can students earn?

Ans. Cisco is the primary industry knowledge partner for this programme. Through this partnership, students get access to Cisco's cybersecurity curriculum, tools, and certification pathways. Students can pursue Cisco certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CyberOps Associate, and CCNP Security during the programme. Additionally, EC-Council certifications (CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker, CHFI - Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator) are in the pipeline. Google Cloud certifications are also available through MRU's Google Cloud partnership. These globally recognised certifications significantly enhance employability in the cybersecurity job market.

Ques. What cybersecurity tools will students learn to use in this programme?

Ans. Students get hands-on training with industry-standard cybersecurity tools used by professionals globally. These include Wireshark (network protocol analyser), Kali Linux (penetration testing OS), Metasploit (exploitation framework), Nessus (vulnerability scanner), Snort (intrusion detection system), Nmap (network scanner), and various forensic tools for digital evidence collection and analysis. The 9 state-of-the-art cybersecurity labs at MRU are equipped with these tools, providing students with practical experience in real-world cybersecurity scenarios.
