Ques. What is the role of L&T EduTech in this program and what additional certifications do students receive?
Ans. L&T EduTech is the industry partner for this program and co-designs and co-delivers the curriculum, particularly the specialization modules on Smart Manufacturing and Automation. Students benefit from L&T EduTech's industry expertise, real-world case studies, and access to industry-standard tools and simulations. Additionally, the department has collaborated with Trans Neuron Technologies for a 120-hour Industrial Automation certification program delivered by Subject Matter Experts, and Hitachi Vantara provides an Industry Connect module certification course for final-year students. These certifications add significant value to the degree and improve employability.
Ques. Can a diploma holder from a non-mechanical branch (e.g., electrical or civil) apply for this program?
Ans. Yes, the eligibility criteria states that candidates must have passed a 3-year Diploma in Engineering in any branch/discipline from the State Board of Technical Education, Haryana or equivalent. This means diploma holders from electrical, civil, electronics, or other engineering branches are also eligible to apply, not just mechanical engineering diploma holders. However, since the program is heavily focused on mechanical engineering fundamentals combined with smart manufacturing, students from non-mechanical backgrounds may need to put in extra effort in core mechanical subjects like Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials, and Machine Design.

However, the industry partner and specific curriculum details may differ slightly between the two institutions. The MRU version is in association with L&T EduTech. Students in this program get access to well-equipped labs including Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Robotics, 3D Printing, Fluid Mechanics, Manufacturing Workshop, Heat Transfer, and Hydraulic & Pneumatics Labs. Advanced software training is provided in SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, and ANSYS for design and simulation. The MoU with Altair-DesignTech provides additional training in FEA (Finite Element Analysis), CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), Structural & Thermal Analysis, and Additive Manufacturing. Students also get exposure to PLC programming, SCADA systems, CNC machines, and IoT development platforms as part of the hands-on curriculum.
