HEC Paris offers 20+ scholarships across MBA, Master’s, and PhD tracks, of which 15+ are accessible to Indian applicants. The largest MBA award, the Boustany Foundation Scholarship, covers full tuition worth EUR 84,000 (INR 90.30 Lakhs). Indian PhD candidates get a fully funded five-year package worth EUR 130,000 (INR 139.75 Lakhs) in stipend, plus complete tuition waiver.

Master’s applicants typically layer the HEC Foundation Excellence Scholarship with the Charpak grant from the French Embassy in India. Together these can cut the two-year MIM sticker price by 30 to 50 percent.

  • Standard MIM tuition: EUR 57,700 (INR 62.03 Lakhs) over 24 months
  • With HEC Foundation waiver: EUR 5,000 to EUR 20,000 tuition reduction per year
  • With Foundation plus Charpak stack: Indian students recover 30 to 50 percent of total study cost
  • Next MBA scholarship deadline: August 16, 2026 (Round 1, January 2027 intake)

Currency Note: All INR conversions use the live rate of 1 EUR = INR 107.5 as of June 2026. All scholarship amounts are sourced from the HEC Paris website, the HEC Foundation portal, and Campus France India.

HEC Paris Scholarships for UG Students

HEC Paris is a graduate-focused Grande École, so standalone undergraduate scholarships are limited. Bachelor-level applicants typically enter via the HEC Bocconi Bachelor pathway, where funding flows through the Bocconi merit framework.

ScholarshipAmount (EUR / INR)Indian EligibilityDeadline (Tentative)
HEC Bocconi Bachelor Merit WaiverUp to EUR 12,000 (INR 12.90 Lakhs)Merit-tested; open to Indian nationalsJanuary 15, 2027
Eiffel Excellence (Bachelor stream via partners)EUR 1,181 monthly stipend (INR 1.27 Lakhs)Under 25, top academic profileJanuary 10, 2027
HEC Summer School Fee DiscountEUR 500 to EUR 1,500 (INR 53,750 to INR 1.61 Lakhs)Early registration for Indian applicantsMarch 31, 2027

Most Indian students who target HEC at the UG level plan a two-step route. They complete a Bachelor at Bocconi or a partner with merit funding, then apply for a fully funded Master’s at HEC Paris. This unlocks the far richer scholarship pool detailed in the next section.

Reddit Insight: Indian MIM admits on r/GradSchool report that the HEC Foundation Merit decision arrives after the EUR 5,000 (INR 5.38 Lakhs) confirmation deposit is due. Many pay the deposit first, then use the award to offset later tuition instalments.

India-Specific Scholarships at HEC Paris

HEC Paris does not run a country quota scholarship exclusively for Indian nationals. However, three schemes were designed specifically for Indian candidates entering French institutions. These are the highest-value India-anchored grants an HEC applicant can realistically target.

Charpak recipients get free student visa processing at VFS Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Puducherry. The award also includes a Mediclaim insurance policy valid across the EU. Indian candidates apply through the Campus France India portal, not directly to HEC.

Reddit Insight: On r/IndiansAbroad, past Charpak recipients confirm the scholarship covers airfare and visa fees but the tuition portion caps at EUR 5,000 (INR 5.38 Lakhs). MIM applicants therefore still owe the balance on the EUR 57,700 (INR 62.03 Lakhs) fee.

External Government Scholarships for HEC Paris Applicants

Three French government schemes fund HEC students at scale. All are open to Indian nationals and can stack on top of HEC Foundation awards without a double-funding conflict.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (partner tracks)European CommissionEUR 1,400 monthly (INR 1.51 Lakhs) plus tuitionJanuary 15, 2027

Eiffel Excellence is the highest-prestige French government award for international students. HEC Paris nominates candidates directly, so applicants must first secure admission and then flag interest to the admissions office. The scholarship runs for 12 months at Master’s level and up to 36 months for PhDs at partner institutions.

Charpak differs because Indian candidates apply directly to Campus France India after receiving the HEC offer. The award pairs cleanly with any HEC Foundation grant. Indian students often layer Charpak with the HEC Foundation MIM Merit for the strongest combined value.

HEC Paris Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. What is the maximum scholarship stack an Indian MBA candidate can secure at HEC Paris?

Ans. An Indian MBA admit can theoretically stack Emerging Markets (EUR 22,000), Louis Bachelier (EUR 10,000), and HEC Foundation Excellence (EUR 15,000). This totals EUR 47,000 (INR 50.53 Lakhs), roughly 56 percent of the EUR 84,000 (INR 90.30 Lakhs) sticker. Boustany winners get 100 percent tuition coverage but only one is awarded globally per cycle.

Ques. When should Indian applicants apply for HEC Paris scholarships?

Ans. MBA scholarship applications are integrated with each admission round. For the January 2027 intake, the four rounds close on August 16, September 20, October 18, and November 15, 2026. MIM scholarship decisions arrive alongside the admission offer. Charpak applications open at Campus France India between November 2026 and January 2027 for the following September intake.

Ques. Do Indian students need to submit a separate application for HEC Foundation scholarships?

Ans. No separate form is required for most HEC Foundation awards. Candidates tick a scholarship interest box within the main HEC application. A short scholarship essay of 300 to 500 words is added at the same stage. Boustany and Forte awards have their own additional forms and interviews.

Ques. What GPA or GMAT score do Indian applicants need to be competitive for HEC scholarships?

Ans. The HEC MBA class averages a GMAT of 635. Indian scholarship winners typically score 700+ given the applicant pool strength. For MIM, a strong bachelor’s transcript (GPA 8.5+ on a 10-scale) plus GMAT 680+ or GRE 320+ is the informal threshold. HEC publishes no official minimum score.

Ques. How does the Charpak Scholarship compare with the HEC Foundation Merit Scholarship for Indian MIM applicants?

Ans. Charpak is capped at EUR 5,000 (INR 5.38 Lakhs) tuition support but adds EUR 5,860 (INR 6.30 Lakhs) in living costs, airfare, and visa. HEC Foundation Merit ranges from EUR 5,000 to EUR 15,000 (INR 5.38 to INR 16.13 Lakhs) as tuition reduction only. The two combine without conflict, giving Indian candidates the strongest layered offer.

Ques. Do HEC Paris scholarships cover the cost of living in Paris and Jouy-en-Josas?

Ans. Only Eiffel and Charpak include a living stipend. HEC Foundation awards are tuition-only. Jouy-en-Josas campus dorm rent runs EUR 500 to EUR 900 monthly (INR 53,750 to INR 96,750). Total monthly living costs, including food and transport, sit at EUR 1,200 to EUR 1,600 (INR 1.29 to INR 1.72 Lakhs) for an Indian student.

Scholarship

  • I did not receive a scholarship.
  • There are mainly 3 types of scholarships.
    • Eiffel scholarship: It’s given by the government of France for students with outstanding academics and experience. Hence, it is a profile-based scholarship and every applicant to HEC is automatically considered for this scholarship. Typical amount is 50% of the tuition fee.
    • Academic scholarship: This scholarship is provided by HEC for students with outstanding academics and experience. The amount ranges from 4,000 to 8,000 euros based on the profile of the student.
    • Charpak scholarship: This scholarship is for Indian students studying in France. It is a profile-based scholarship as well and has a separate application.

  • The accommodation differs based on your course. For the first year of your Master in Management program, you are allotted the T1 room. This room has a kitchenette and a bathroom attached to it. The rent is around 620 euros.
  • For the second year, you are allotted a room in the AP building. This room does not have a kitchenette attached; however, it has a bathroom. There is one common kitchen per building in these buildings and the rent is around 570 euros.
  • The T1 buildings are naturally more comfortable to live in but you would also get used to the AP buildings when you have to. One advantage of the AP buildings is their proximity to the academic block. You can reach the academic block within a few minutes. For the T1 buildings, you will require around 7-8 minutes to reach the academic block.

Scholarship

  • I did not apply for or receive any scholarship during my course. There were however several scholarships available for different merits and criteria- for merit, or women, for under privileged, etc.
  • I am not so sure of how many people receive a scholarship in a year and I am also not aware of the range of amount that can be received for a scholarship.

  • I was in campus housing and chose the cheapest apartment without really looking at the pictures. I did not have the best housing (the AP buildings are not the nicest buildings to stay in). Even though I saved up a small amount, the other houses were much more comfortable to stay in. Monthly rent was 560 for the AP buildings and around 670 for the other buildings.
  • Housing application was taken care of by the college- we just had to fill a form stating the kind of accommodation we would like. I realised most of my batchmates took accommodation in the better building so the socialising was restricted in my case. Otherwise the campus, classrooms and other buildings were very accessible. Most Indians stay on campus.

Scholarship

  • I received a Merit based scholarship from HEC Paris of 6,000 Euros all at once. Apart from this scholarship, there are few others such as Women in business scholarship, Need based scholarship that is directly awarded from HEC Paris.
  • Other outside scholarships include Eiffel scholarship (selected by the college and sent to the French government), Charpak scholarship (awarded to Indian students) and many other scholarships depending upon the native country of the student and the performance during the interview. My batchmates received at least one of the above mentioned scholarships and i found lot of people with no scholarships as well.

  • HEC Paris students usually receive college accommodations and is allotted through the university portal. And college also refers to come options i the city for people opting to stay out and they provide end to end service in allotting the accommodations to the students
  • The monthly rent range: 500 - 750 Euros depending upon the time of accommodation each year
  • I recommend people to stay in campus during their studies because of the facilities available and also to commute to the learning center or the class room
  • Since the accommodations are on the campus, it would somewhere around 500m to 1km
