English Proficiency Test Score for International Students

International students are required to submit English proficiency scores for masters programs taught in english. Minimum score requirement varies from course to course.

Following certificates are accepted as proof of German language proficiency for programs taught in German:

  • Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang
  • Deutsches Sprachdiplom
  • TELC Deutsch C1 Hochschule
  • Feststellungsprüfungszeugnis

Visa Process for International Students

Students are required to book an online visa appointment through the German Consulate website. Following this, the applicant has to pay a visa fee of 75-EUR and they shall be called for an in-person interview.

  • Applicants must provide the following documents to receive the form:
    • Copy of passport
    • Proof of financial support (Affidavit and Bank Statement)

Applicants who wish to stay in Germany for more than 2 months, must get the Confirmation of Registration “Meldebestätigung”. To get this, the student must apply at the local Resident’s Registration Office or “Einwohnermeldeamt”.

Applicants who wish to stay in Germany for more than 3 months, must possess a proper residence title.“Aufenthaltsgenehmigung” is the appropriate title, especially for study purposes. A residence permit shall be issued upon the application of the visa holder at the Alien Registration Office “Ausländerbehörde“.

General documents to take for the visa interview:

  • Passport (valid for at least six months ahead)
  • Original application Form
  • Official Admission Letter and completed visa Form
  • Completed and signed visa application form
  • Proof of permanent address outside Germany.
  • Two Passport- size photographs (2”x2")
  • Receipt of visa fee payment.
  • Proof of funding sufficient to cover your tuition and living expenses. The applicant may support this by providing the original versions of the Financial Affidavit of Support form and bank statement they submitted to receive immigration documents.
  • Evidence of the intention to return to your home country and not immigrate to Germany.

The University of Konstanz Undergraduate Admission

The University of Konstanz offers courses in many subjects like accountancy, mathematics, finance, social sciences, physics, computer science, etc. The admission process for domestic and international students are both conducted online. However, international students have additional requirements and must be careful with their visa process so as to complete it in time. The University of Konstanz Graduate Admissions

The University offers a wide range of masters and doctoral degrees. Most of them require German language Proficiency, however, some of them are taught in English too.

Major courses like Master of Sciences, Economics, Political Administration, etc are offered in English. The intake seasons vary from course to course.

Foreigns transcripts should be evaluated and translated in english. Students are required to submit transcripts of every semester or year of the degree and not just final year. University also accepts application of students in their final year of study, provided they submit final scores at the time of enrollment.

The University does not have a selective admission process. However, International students are advised to apply prior to deadlines and ensure their visa completion at least 3 months prior to the start of their semester.
