Ulm University International Student Admissions

Admission process is completely different for Ulm University as compared to other German universities. Basic requirements for courses are not too different from others but Ulm University accepts application in two stages. Explanation for the same is given below :

  1. The application process consists of two parts - a pre-application phase for all applicants, followed by a full application for applicants who cleared the pre-application stage.
  2. First assessment of a candidate’s qualification will be given after the applicant enters all the required information in the university's pre-application form.
  3. As a second step, after university receives applicant’s full application, university will check whether candidate’s qualification is suitable for successfully attending "Communications Technology" or not.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Good knowledge of English or German language as per requirements of course
  • All certified transcripts from previously attended institutions translated in German. Photocopies are also allowed
  • Personal statement of objectives
  • Two reference letters.

Visa Process for International Students

For EU nationals: They don't require a visa to enter the Republic of Germany.

Non-EU Nationals: Required but there are a few exceptions to this rule. List of countries whose citizens don’t require a visa can be found here

Process :

  • After admission confirmation. candidates have to visit the nearest German embassy and submit all the following documents: Copy of passport, 2 passport size photographs, certificate of birth, etc.
  • Candidate has to submit Proof of Financial Resources or Proof of Subsistence. Actual amount may vary but on average applicant have to present a statement of at least 8,700 euros.
  • Also, applicants have to provide proof of university admission.
