The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released the revised academic calendar for all the universities, colleges and academic institutions imparting technical and management education across the country.
As per the revised academic calendar, the classes for the existing students enrolled in technical courses in all the affiliated colleges will start from August 16, 2020.
The teaching process including the lateral entry to second year courses for newly admitted students will commence from September 15, 2020.
AICTE had earlier announced the academic calendar defining dates for academic activities for the academic year 2020-21. However, the Council decided to release revised calendar as per the directives issued by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
As per the MHA directives, all the academic institutions will remain closed until July 30, 2020 in view of COVID-19 rising cases.
Directives Issued by AICTE :
- Complete the first round of Counselling for allotment of seats, on or before August 30, 2020.
- Complete the Second round of Counselling for allotment of seats, on or before September 10, 2020.
- Last date to admit students against vacancies is September 15, 2020.
- Classes for existing students under technical courses except PGDM/PGCM to commence from August 16, 2020.
- Academic session and teaching process including Lateral Entry to Second year courses for newly admitted students, to start from September 15, 2020.
- The admission for Technical Institutions conducting PGDM/PGCM courses should not be initiated before April 1, 2020
- Last Date to admit students in Open and Distance Learning Courses is August 16, 2020 and February 15, 2021.
- The academic session for PGDM/PGCM courses for newly admitted students to commence from August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021.
