The Assam government has recently announced that they will make a final decision on the opening of educational institutions including schools and colleges of the state after August 25.
“We are receiving suggestions from the people. We will analyse the suggestions on August 25. We will also look at the recommendations of the ministry of home affairs to take the decision,” said Assam health, finance and education minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

As per sources, the Assam government has also sought feedback from the stakeholders regarding this. Moreover, the state government has also proposed guidelines to start informal education from September 1, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, schools and colleges in Assam as well as across the country have remained closed since March.
