Amidst increasing spread of coronavirus, The Bar Council of India has asked the schools to conduct online examination for the final year LL.B students.
All other students, as per the BCI guidelines, are going to be promoted based on the marks obtained in the past semesters. All final year students of LL.B three years and five years program are allowed to sit in online examinations.
The university also can “adopt other appropriate methods” which are adequate to satisfy the requirements for the promotion of students.
According to a BCI statement issued on Tuesday, the ultimate -year law students are often asked to write down a project report or a search paper for every paper of the final year. “They may adopt a fool-proof method to double the interior marks of the semester exams already held for such a year,” the statement said.
The scholars who have backlogs are given the choice to take a seat for the web exam or write a project report or a search paper for the pending papers.
Reopening of schools
The statement clarified that universities and therefore the colleges, upon its reopening, will conduct the final semester examinations for all the scholars promoted.
Such promoted students will still study in the year to which they need been promoted. “In case, they're unable to pass/clear any such paper of such end-semester exam of the year from which they need been promoted, they shall need to clear an equivalent, before they're granted the degree,” the rules added.
The schools are further directed to watch “COVID-19 protocol” and make sure that social distancing is followed within the campus after its reopening. the school rooms and exam halls are going to be sanitised regularly to make sure the security of scholars .
