Bar Council of India: Law Universities to Conduct Physical Exam for Students; Read Details Here

November 02, 2020: Law Universities have received a green signal from the Bar Council of India (BCI) to conduct physical examination for candidates who were unable to appear in the previously held examinations due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. 

As per the Bar Council Of India (BCI) statement on November 01, 2020, students who were unable to clear the law examination are also eligible to appear for the fresh examination.

The physical examination will be held with No Objection Certification (NOC) in accordance with the State Government and State Disaster Management Authority of India. 

BCI: Re-exams to be conducted Physically, Classes to continue in Online mode

Bar Council of India stated that physical examination can be conducted once the universities reopen for candidates who were unable to appear in the earlier examination. Candidates will not be judged or prejudiced or affected in any way because of coronavirus. 

The council further added that the opportunity to appear in the exam will be given fairly to candidates of intermediate and final year law programs after the physical reopening of colleges and universities in India.

Candidates who were unable to appear for the examination will be provided with the option to appear for the physical examination conducted by law universities after the reopening of colleges. 

Students who were infected with coronavirus and those who were unable to appear due to COVID-19 restricts will be permitted to appear for the examination. While students who failed in the examination can also appear for re-examination.

In view of the increasing cases of COVID-19, the Bar Council of India has permitted the examination for intermediate law students along with final year students as well. 

The fresh examination will be conducted within one month of the reopening of the university and colleges. Classes, for the time being, will be held through online mode until further notice.
