West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said that all state-run and state-aided schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed till July 31, 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Education Minister declared this on June 23, 2020. Earlier the educational institutions were asked to remain shut till June 30, 2020.
Partha said, " There will be no change in the functioning of these institutions. It is just that the regular classes will now remain suspended till July 31, 2020 instead of June 30, 2020."
He further added that the administrative functioning of the educational institutions will continue the way it used to during the lockdown, maintaining all COVID-19 protocols.
