Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked schools to immediately provide online Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) data.
"UDISE was launched in 2012-13 on the collection of integrated DISE information for elementary and secondary education. It is one of the largest school education management information systems in the world. All schools in India must complete their UDISE+ data as soon as possible through an online platform, "the CBSE notification stated.

"However, it has been noted that some of the CBSE affiliated schools have not provided UDISE+ data on online platforms. Failure to submit UDISE+ information shall result in a breach of Rule 12.2.2 of the Bye-Laws affiliation, "the notification added further.
CBSE has directed all school authorities to immediately fill out UDISE+ data pertaining to 2019-20 via the online platform.

U-DISE data are widely used for the planning and monitoring of development interventions in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).
The Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) is a flagship scheme of the Government of India to improve access to and quality of secondary education.
UDISE is now also the main source of official statistics. Therefore there is a need for a schoolmaster directory. This directory will help to identify schools that are not covered by UDISE.
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is also the flagship programme of the Government of India to achieve universalization of elementary education (UEE) in a time-bound manner, as mandated by the 86th amendment to the Constitution of India to make free and compulsory education for children aged 6-14 years a fundamental right.
