Odisha Higher Department of Education has received the biggest turnout of students appearing for CPET exam 2020.

The Odisha state government conducted the Common Entrance test for PG courses (CPET) for the first time this year. The state conducted the CPET tests in the month of October for 11 days in three time slots across 28 exam centers.

Keeping in view of the pandemic situation, the Exam Committee increased the number of exam centers in the state to avoid gathering of students. The exam was held for 1 and half hours with 70 marks of questions. The students were given OMR sheets to record their answers.

The department recorded 62,942 applicants for the CPET 2020 examinations and 6 of the students were found Covid Positive at the time of screening.

The Vice-Chairman of the Odisha State Higher Authority has announced that the merit list will be published by November 10, 2020 and all the admission process for PG courses are to be completed by November 30, 2020.

Students are advised to update their Graduation marks in the Student Academic Management Systems (SAMS) portal by November 5, 2020. The department will be preparing the final merit list on the basis of that.

The exam centers where the CPET 2020 was held, will be handing over the answer sheets and marks to the Odisha Computer Application Center (OCAC) by November 2, 2020. The state is set to commence the PG new session by the first week of December.

Conducting CPET examinations will make it easier for the admission committee to offer seats for PG courses in all the colleges across the state. This will save time for all the universities to sort out applications for the PG candidates.
