CUET UG and PG Scores Now Valid for Both Biannual Admission Sessions, Says UGC

CUET PG and CUET UG scores will now be accepted in the biannual admission cycles for UG and PG courses in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Additionally, PhD admissions will be conducted twice, confirms UGC.

New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that CUET UG and CUET PG scores are now valid for biannual admission sessions for UG and PG courses in all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The admission process will be conducted in two sessions: January/February and July/August cycles.

Informing about the decision, UGC Chairperson M Jagadesh Kumar said "There is no need for multiple entrance tests. CUET UG or PG test scores will be valid for the whole year and students can seek admissions based on the same in July-Aug as well as in Jan-Feb cycle”.

This decision affects the admission process in various higher education institutions in India. The commission also stated that the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) can now conduct PhD admission twice annually.

Key Objectives of UGC’s New Guidelines Regarding Biannual Admissions through CUET

This UGC initiative intends to streamline the admission process, reduce the burden on students of appearing in several entrance exams and establish a fair and uniform grading system for all candidates.

This initiative of UGC is aimed to ensure the quality and accessibility of higher education in the country. It seeks to build a more inclusive admissions process to support students achieve their academic goals. Per UGC, this initiative will make the admission process more efficient and transparent.

About CUET 2024

Earlier, the CUET PG 2024 Result was declared on April 13, 2024 and candidates qualifying in the exam can take part in CUET PG 2024 Counselling. CUET PG 2024 was conducted from March 11 to March 28, 2024 for admission into PG courses in various Central/State Universities.

This year, CUET UG 2024 was held from May 15 to May 31 for admission in undergraduate courses at 44 Central Universities and about 250 state universities in India. The several courses offered through CUET UG 2024 are BA, BCom, BSc, BCA, etc. The CUET UG 2024 Results will be announced on June 30, 2024.
