Delhi Schools Set to Continue Online Classes After the Summer Break

Schools in Delhi will reopen after the summer break next month, while classes are likely to be conducted virtually in light of the increase in COVID-19 cases in the national capital.

Due to this, officials at both government and private schools have stated that chances of calling students to school are bleak for the month of July.

Schools have switched to provide classes via video conferencing, recorded videos and audio lectures over Whatsapp, and activities on emails.

Moreover, taking into account the current situation both CBSE and NCERT are revising the syllabus and the assessment process for the year 2020-21.

Several private schools in Delhi are conducting teachers’ training programmes to prepare teachers for online classes.

With the shift of medium for learning, students are spending more time on screen. Parents have raised concerns about their children spending more time on screen.

In order to change this, schools are planning to increase offline activities to reduce the screen time of children. 

Furthermore, arrangements are made to take care of students who don’t have access to devices and the internet.

An east MCD school in Gandhi Nagar has asked its teachers to prepare the worksheets so that parents whose kids do not have access to online learning can collect them from schools.
