The Jharkhand Academic Council has found a fake website declaring the results of classes 10 and 12, weeks away from the official declaration of the results.

The fake website going by the name http://jacresults.in/ is suspected to have been created in Uttar Pradesh. JAC has written to the National Cyber-Coordination Centre (NCCC) and the Cyber Cell of Jharkhand to track it down and take action against it.

The official website of the Jharkhand Academic Council is http://jac.jharkhand.gov.in/jac/ which is where the results will be declared.

A senior official of the IT Cell of the Council said that the fake website was designed to look like the result page of JAC. He cautioned that the attempt could be linked to forgery, fraud and phishing.

With the council having recently finished evaluating the class 10 and class 12 papers, the results are likely to be announced in the first week of July.

JAC held the class 10 and class 12 examinations from 10 to 28 February. 387,000 students took the class 10 examination across 940 centres, while 234,000 students took the class 12 examination across 470 centres.

The start of the evaluation of the papers was delayed from 20 March to 28 May due to the coronavirus outbreak.
