An FIR has been registered against a college in Talegaon Dabhade of Pune district for holding offline class 11 examinations, despite restrictions imposed in view of COVID-19.
The exams were conducted for class 11 commerce students in a school run by Snehavardhan Education Trust.
The Police after receiving the information, reached the spot and found 27 students appearing for an exam. A case has been registered against 14 members of the Trust.
"We received information on Friday morning that class 11 exam was being conducted by Snehavardhan junior science and commerce college. The information was received that repeat exams of students failed in class 11 were being conducted here", said Madhusudan Barge, Tehsildar.
All the members of the Education Board and teachers present at the spot have been booked by the Pimpri-Chinchwad police.
Adding to this Tehsildar Madhusudan said that the exam was going on in three different classrooms. The institute called 17 students by messaging them about the exam timings and date.
Government had imposed strict instructions but the institute violated the law and put the life of students at risk.
