All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to go digital for online scrutiny and issues of Extension of approval (EoA).
AICTE has recently tweeted - " #AICTE now goes digital for online scrutiny & issue of EoA. All regional offices utilizing digital platforms with experts joining online for the annual exercise of scrutiny. Institutes joining & presenting docs remotely, facilitating to jumpstart academic sessions as #Lockdown eases.”
COVID-19 outbreak and the lockdown situations made the Council to choose this alternative method so as to avoid any delays. The Council has also released the official statement for the same that is as below:
AICTE has also requested all the deemed universities and standalone institutions to avoid the fees payment during the lockdown period. The Council has asked all the institutions and stakeholders to step forward and help the country in this difficult situation.
AICTE Chairman, Anil Sahasrabuddhe has stated, “We have devised online scrutiny of documents and virtual institute inspections in order to proceed with approval of new colleges. This process can’t be further delayed so we had to come up with a viable solution.” Adding to this he said that the online scrutiny will be at par with any physical scrutiny that institutes have been put through in the past.
