The GAT-B 2026 scorecard contains important information such as the candidate's name, roll number, category, subject-wise marks, total score, percentile, and All India Rank (AIR). The AIR plays a crucial role in determining seat allotment during the DBT counselling process for postgraduate biotechnology programmes.
Conducted by NTA on behalf of the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), GAT-B serves as the gateway to DBT-supported postgraduate biotechnology programmes. More than 70 participating institutes across India accept GAT-B scores for admissions.
How to Download the GAT-B 2026 Scorecard and Rank Card?
Candidates can download their scorecard and rank card by following these steps:
- Visit the official website at exams.nta.nic.in/gat-bet.
- Click on the GAT-B 2026 Scorecard or Rank Card download link.
- Enter your application number, password or date of birth, and the security code.
- Click on Submit to access your candidate dashboard.
- Download the scorecard and rank card in PDF format.
- Take a printout for future counselling and admission purposes.
What Does the GAT-B Rank Card Decide?
The All India Rank (AIR) is the basis for DBT counselling seat allotment. Higher-ranked candidates have better chances of securing admission to prestigious institutions such as the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) and the National Institute of Immunology (NII), along with several DBT-supported university departments.
In addition to admission opportunities, selected candidates may also become eligible for a DBT-JRF-linked stipend during their postgraduate programme, making the rank card significant from both academic and financial perspectives.
GAT-B is linked to a centrally funded PG stipend in biotechnology. A strong rank can secure both a seat and direct financial support during the master's programme.
Action Plan for Candidates
- Download the scorecard and rank card from the official portal.
- Verify your name, category, marks, percentile, and All India Rank for any discrepancies.
- Save digital copies and keep at least two printed copies for counselling.
- Monitor the DBT counselling portal for registration and seat allotment updates.
- Keep all educational certificates, identity proof, category certificates (if applicable), and other required documents ready for verification.
