Gujarat CM Digitally Inaugurated 10 New Tribal Schools

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani digitally inaugurated six schools in the tribal-dominated regions and also laid the foundation of four new schools over video conferencing.

A twitter post depicting the inauguration event, mentions that INR 136.40 crore has been spent for the establishment of these schools and this will prove beneficial for over 4500 students from the tribal regions of Gujarat.

The video conference was attended by Tribal Development Ministers Ganpat Vasava and Ramlal Patkar. The Senior Tribal Development Officials were also part of the digital event.

Amid COVID-19, Gujarat has taken some important steps towards safeguarding the education of students with the best of their interest. The state provided free online classes to private school students. The schools are to remain shut in Gujarat and there is no set date announced by the government for the reopening of schools.

Several premier education institutions of Ahmedabad have also proposed to include COVID aspects in the curriculum. This will help the students to cope with unprecedented situations like COVID-19.

Earlier the state also postponed the end semester examinations and entrance exams like JEE Main and NEET. However, the students and parents association have filed a plea requesting the Supreme Court to direct NTA on holding JEE Main and NEET 2020, as these exams are crucial for students' careers.
