Haryana Schools Partially Re-open on September 21; Teachers and Students Delighted

Haryana schools finally reopened on September 21 after remaining closed for the past six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students from classes 9 to 12 are allowed to visit their schools voluntarily.

Only 50% of teaching and non-teaching staff are allowed to visit school premises to conduct doubt solving sessions. Only students coming from non-containment zones will be permitted to enter the school premises.

Excitement Among Teachers and Students

A wave of happiness and excitement gushed through students on their first day of school after lockdown. A principal of a government school in Sirsa said "The teachers were also excited to meet students after months.”

She further added,” We are taking every precaution because of the pandemic and following all the government guidelines.

Though the number of students who showed up in schools on the first day was comparatively less. On Monday, only a few students rolled up in private school for guidance whereas the number was more in government schools.

Instructions for Teachers

Similarly, Teachers were also advised to follow SOPs and guide the same to students. All Teachers are tested for COVID-19 before conducting any doubt session. An official stated,” It has been made mandatory for teachers to download the Arogya Setu app on their mobile phones.”

Teachers are also instructed not to share any books, dusters chalk with any students or colleagues. Some school’s administration has also installed foot pedals to control water taps to maintain social distancing. officials said. and all were required to take a COVID-19 test before September 21.

Students are allocated different time slots to maintain social distancing inside the school campus. Students visiting schools compulsorily have to wear a face mask. Their body temperature should be checked before the entrance.

Schools have also installed the facility of hand Sanitization. The student's toilet is cleaned regularly but only one student at a time was allowed to use the toilet.
