The chief minister of Himachal Pradesh has approved the resumption of the annual assessment system for students in classes 10 and 12.

New Delhi: Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, approved the resumption of the annual assessment system for students in classes 10 and 12 on Sunday. Students in the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education's connected schools in the Class 10 and Class 12 will be able to take their annual exams once a year thanks to the system.

In earlier times, there were two exams held during a single academic session. The word "system" wasn't helpful. The chief minister stated in a statement released here that the students were having less time to review because they were taking two exams.

The examination and evaluation processes took a long time to complete, and the students had to pay the exam fees twice as a result, adding to their financial burden. The claim goes that Himachal Pradesh is a geographically diverse state with a range of teaching days because of a range of holiday schedules that depend on the local weather in each of its many regions.

The annual assessment method is used by the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), neighboring Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. Sukhu said that after taking into account all of these issues, the decision was made to end the term system in Himachal Pradesh and reinstate the annual system.

He continued, "The state government is actively working to improve the system across many domains to provide students with accessible and high-quality education".
