Himachal Pradesh: CM Allows ITI’s to Reopen from October 1, 2020

The Government of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday made the decision to reopen the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) from October 1, 2020. 

ITI’s in the state were closed down in the month of March to slow down the spread of Coronavirus. 

As per the reports by a spokesman, Jai Ram Thakur, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and the cabinet chairman gave the permission for the Commencement of the Training activities in ITIs. 

Further, the cabinet has ordered the training institutes to follow the instructions which will be provided by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).

Earlier, the state government had issued the order for reopening of schools in the non-containment zones with 50% of the teaching staff for Classes 9 to 12. Students were asked to provide the written consent of their parents or guardians for attending classes.

Furthermore, the cabinet has also granted permission to resume the work of placing the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's statue at the Ridge in Shimla, said the official spokesman. 

Additionally, the cabinet approved the Vidhayak Kshetra Vikas Nidhi Yojana (MLALAD) fund of Rs 50 lakh for the year 2020-21.

A presentation was also displayed in the cabinet meeting, on the proposed inauguration of the Atal Tunnel in Rohtang in Lahaul-Spiti district on October 3 by PM Narendra Modi.
