HRD Conducts First Ever IndSAT Examination Online in 13 Countries

On Wednesday, between 5000-6000 students belonging to a total of thirteen countries such as Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Bhutan and others appeared for the first-ever IndSAT exam. 

The examination will be used by several Indian institutions to determine scholarships and grant admissions. A senior official stated that the first-ever IndSAT test was conducted in said countries among several others.

The test was conducted in online mode by the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the efforts of EdCIL, under the HRD Ministry. This was the first time that the HRD conducted an examination of this kind in online mode.

The official also informed that about 20,000 students had initially registered for the test, out of which around 6,000 candidates appeared for it. The exact figures are speculated to be released once all the data is analyzed. 

Although the number of candidates who appeared in the examination is lesser than that of those who registered, acknowledging the pandemic scenario it was quite a participation. 

The test was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in different shifts taking different time zones into consideration. 

Earlier, the HRD ministry had postponed the IndSAT 2020 due to the rise in coronavirus cases. The exam was previously scheduled to be conducted on May 30 which was further shifted to July.
