Hyderabad: Class 10 Students to be promoted to the next grade based on internal marks

On Monday, Telangana’s Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced that all Class 10 or Secondary School Certificate  students will be promoted to the next class without being required to sit for any examinations.

This decision to promote students was taken during a high-level review meeting at the Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad because of the current situation concerning the spread of Covid-19.


Among the present members were Education Minister Sabita Indrareddy, chief secretary Sri Somesh Kumar, Special Chief Secretary (Education) Ms. Chitra Ramachandran, CMO Principal Secretary Sri S Narsing Rao, Board of Secondary Education Director Sri Satynarayan Reddy, CMO Special Secretary Sri Rajsekhar, OSD Sri Deshapathy Srinivas, Secretary Sri Bhoopal Reddy, and others.


Upon the conclusion of the meeting, the CM came to the decision that the class 10th students will be promoted to the next grade on the basis of their internal examinations. Hyderabad currently has over 5,34,900 Class 10 students in total. 


Three examinations from two subjects have already been conducted out of the remaining subjects. After which the examinations were previously postponed.
