The Indian Angel Network (IAN) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Alumni Singapore, have collaborated to fund emerging startups and foster job creation in India and Singapore.

New Delhi: In a collaborative effort, the Indian Angel Network (IAN) and the IIM Alumni Singapore have formed a partnership aimed at funding new startups and generating employment opportunities in both India and Singapore.
Under this partnership, IIM Alumni will grant IAN investors access to premium investment prospects characterized by robust intellectual property protection rights and support from government-based schemes in Singapore. This strategic alliance aligns with IAN's overarching vision of investing in 500 startups, committing INR 5,000 crores to create 500,000 high-value jobs across India and Singapore.
Meanwhile, IIM Alumni Singapore is aiming to provide value to its members. The partnership will provide access to engage with the Indian and South-East Asian start-up ecosystems. “Partnering with IAN will provide IIM Alumni Singapore members high-quality investment opportunities and the ability to engage with them to leverage the South East Asian markets,” a press statement said.

According to a press statement, partnering with IAN not only provides high-quality investment opportunities for IIM Alumni Singapore members but also enables them to strategically engage with these opportunities to tap into the South East Asian markets.

This partnership will enable both IAN and IIM Angel Investors' portfolio companies to leverage the opportunities presented by the Indian and South East Asian markets. It adds value to startups and investors alike.
Furthermore, the collaboration offers India-based angel investors within the IAN network a distinctive chance to support innovative startups linked to IIM alumni in Singapore, facilitated through a SEBI-approved structure.
IIM Alumni Singapore President on the Partnership
Suresh Shankar, the president of IIM Alumni Singapore, expressed that being associated with IAN, the pioneers of angel investing in India, is a game-changer for them. He highlighted that the group plays a pivotal role in elevating the entrepreneurial landscape in the country and is renowned for its robust startup and investor portfolio.

According to him, their partnership would offer numerous opportunities for IIM Alumni in Singapore who are eager to invest in and mentor startups, providing them with access to IAN's platform for the same.
Saurabh Srivastava, one of the co-founders of IAN, pointed out that this strategic partnership is poised to expedite job growth in both India and Singapore. As the central coordinating body for IIM Alumni in the city, IIM Alumni Singapore plays a key role.
