IIT Kharagpur Collaborates With University Of Alberta To Launch Doctoral Program
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, has collaborated with the University of Alberta, Canada to launch a Joint Doctoral Degree Program (JDP) with the aim to facilitate the academic exchanges between the faculty members and students of the two countries.
IIT Kharagpur stated that the program will give students an opportunity to undertake research at the partner institute for a period of 6 months to one year.
The collaboration between the institutes is the part of the mission "reach out globally and engage actively".
Virendra Kumar Tewari, the director of IIT Kharagpur said, "We have to engage actively in a more strategic manner in the post-COVID-19 world. The partnership program will include identification of research projects for students, fellowships, joint supervision, with financial support in the form of a monthly stipend to cover the cost of meals and accommodation for the students during their visit."
He also said that the participating students will also get recognition upon completion of the program.
