August 8, 2020: The Application Form for Class 10^th and 12^th Compartment exams has been started by JAC. 

July 31, 2020: Application for scrutiny of answer sheet for class 10 started. Application form shall be filled and submitted online on the official website.

Candidates who appeared for the board exams can check their marks online at the official website by entering their roll code and roll number. Candidates who wish to apply for scrutiny can do the same by filling the application form on the official website. The last date to apply for scrutiny of answer sheet is August 25, 2020. This year, about 3.2 lakh students sat for 12th board exams which were held between February 11 and 28, 2020 including 90,000 from science, 47,000 from commerce, and 1.8 lakh from humanities. Arts Stream students outperformed among all the streams with the pass percentage of 82.53%. Jharkhand Academic Council chairman has confirmed a news portal that some evaluation work is pending which will be completed in a day or two. Though board results are generally announced every year in May, 2020 will see a delay due to the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. Students are advised to keep checking the website for any official notice regarding board results.

Step 2: Click on the link “Compartmental Secondary Examination, the Year 2020”. Then candidates will be redirected to the compartment exam dashboard.

How can Jharkhand board students calculate their percentage? Percentage calculation method is given below:

• For secondary/class 12 students who have passed in all subjects, best of 5 subject marks will be taken into consideration.

• The subject in which class 12 students has achieved the lowest marks will be considered to be “extra subject”.

• Secondary or class 10 students need not pass in practical and theory separately to achieve pass marks while intermediate level students must pass separately in both. 

• For class 10 students, a language that is offered as an additional subject can replace a language if the candidate fails in the same (applicable if Hindi or English is one of the language subjects). This benefit also applies to class 12 science/commerce students.

• A candidate who has achieved more than 75% marks in a subject will pass with distinction in that subject.

Jharkhand Academic Council came into existence after the act – known as the Jharkhand Academic Council Act 02.7.2003 -was passed by the State Legislature of Jharkhand and assented by the Governor precisely on 26th December 2003.
