Karnataka Board to Offer 3 Chances to Clear SSLC, II PUC Exams to Reduce Students' Stress; Check Details Here

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has announced modifications in the SSLC (Class 10) and II PUC (Class 12) examination system, which will be effective from the academic year 2023-24. 

Following the announcement, students of Karnataka Board SSLC and II PUC will now have a total of three chances to clear their board examinations. This step is taken to reduce the stress of board exams among students. 

Students can retain the highest marks secured in any of three attempts to clear board exams. In addition to this, the exam board will rename the "supplementary examination" as "annual examination 1, 2, and 3”, to implement the three exam systems. 

Informing about the changes in Karnataka SLLC and Karnataka II PUC Exam 2023, the board shared that three attempts will be given to board students so that they can have better opportunities in their future for employment, where board exam marks matter.

Each and every student has their own pace and style, and with this modification, the board aims to give students the opportunity to take their time to complete their exams with a positive mindset. The difficulty level of these exams will remain the same, with no change in syllabus and format. 

Students who joined their academic course late in I PUC or at degree colleges will be provided with a “bride course” so that they can make up for their missed classes. They will also have the option to select the best marks obtained in each subject during attempts as their final marks.

Till now, the KSEB Exam System includes two exams, an annual and a supplementary examination. Students who are not satisfied with their marks in board exams can only take the supplementary exam, and the marks secured in this exam are considered final, making this system unfriendly to students as they have no choice but to accept the marks.
