The Karnataka School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Council have made changes to the schedule of the Karnataka NMMS 2023 exam. Initially set for December 17, the exam will now be conducted on January 7, 2024.

New Delhi: The Karnataka School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Council have rescheduled the Karnataka NMMS 2023 exam. The exam was originally slated for December 17, however, now, the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship test will now take place on January 7, 2024.

NMMS 2023 Exam Pattern
The NMMS 2023 exam will comprise two segments: the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Abilities Test (SAT). MAT, with 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), assesses students' verbal and non-verbal meta-cognitive skills, including reasoning and critical thinking. Questions in this section may cover topics such as analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures, etc.
The SAT section consists of 90 MCQs derived from the science, social studies, and mathematics syllabi of Classes 7 and 8.
NMMS 2023 Scheme
Within the NMMS scheme, the central government annually grants 1 lakh new scholarships to eligible Class 9 students. Additionally, scholarships are extended to students in Classes 10 to 12, provided they meet the specified criteria. The chosen students receive a scholarship amount of INR 12,000 per annum.

To be eligible for the NMMS exam, students must be enrolled in state government, government-aided, or local body schools, with a family income not exceeding INR 3,50,000.
For the NMMS 2023 exam, candidates must attain a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in their Class 7 examination. Students from SC and ST communities are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks.
