The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has opened Round 1 seat resignation. The window is live on the official portal at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. It runs from August 25 to August 26, 2026.
The facility is part of the Karnataka NEET UG 2026 counselling. It covers both MBBS and BDS state quota seat allotments. Round 1 allotted candidates can now surrender unwanted seats online.
KEA released the Round 1 provisional allotment result on August 19, 2026. Candidates who accepted a seat under Choice 1 or Choice 2 are the intended users. They can now step back and enter Round 2 counselling.

Who Can Resign the Allotted Seat?
The resignation facility is for Round 1 allotted candidates only. It applies to students who chose Choice 1 or Choice 2 during option entry. Choice 3 candidates move to Round 2 automatically without any action.
Students who are not happy with their allotted college or course can withdraw. The resigned seat then goes back to the Round 2 seat matrix. It becomes available for other eligible aspirants in the next round.
