Maharashtra Govt Thinking To Refund Exam Fees, Says Uday Samant

The Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Uday Samant announced on July 19, 2020 that the Maharashtra Government is thinking about refusing the examination fees paid by the students as the final year exams will no longer be conducted.

Samant arrived at Shivaji University to discuss the plans regarding the establishment of an educational complex for students from Karnataka-Maharashtra border areas.

Talking about the complex Samant said, "Universities are leading in the fight against pandemic. For instance, three hostels of Shivaji University are dedicated to treatment of COVID-19 patients. We are presenting these facts to the UGC and request again not to hold the final year exams. Maharashtra government is thinking to repay the examination fees. Also, fees for the next academic year will not be increased at any cost."

As per reports, three sites have been identified in Chandgad Tehsil, for setting up of the educational complex. In two villages, two complexes will be built for which the directions have already been given to the University. The new educational complex will work as a sub-center of Shivaji University, read the orders.

He further added that opposition parties are demoralizing the students by mentioning 'COVID-Pass' in the mark sheets.
