The Mizoram Government has announced that Mizoram class 12 Board Exams will be conducted from June 16, 2020. Following the nationwide lockdown the exams were earlier postponed, however the state government has decided to resume the exams for class 12th.
According to official notification of Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE), the remaining exams of HSSLC will be conducted between June 16, 2020 and June 18, 2020.
The compartmental exams for class 10 will also be conducted on June 16, 2020 at 11 centers of Mizoram.
There are about 4,500 students who could not complete their board examinations in subjects like Chemistry, Home Science, Computer Science, Sociology and Economics.
MBSE planned to conduct the board exams from April 22. Though that was not executed as many students protested due to the inconveniences faced by them following the lockdown situation.
The state government also started virtual classes on 'Doordarshan Kendra Aizawl' from April 13, 2020, to avoid any academic loss of the students.
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga also stated that the state government is contemplating to extend the COVID-19 lockdown beyond May 31, 2020 keeping in view the influx of migrants from outside the state.
