In order to make e-learning more constructive, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has joined hands with Rotary India on June 10, 2020. The e-learning content will be telecasted over all NCERT TV channels.
HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank is hopeful that the collaboration will ensure that e-learning reaches children across the country with NCERT-approved content.
Nishank said," Since March 2020 learners, teachers, parents and the entire education community across the country have been gravely affected due to the COVID-19 outbreak. In this scenario, we have been working tirelessly to develop the best education system with technology and innovation as strong pillars."
Under Vidya Daan initiative, Rotary International will provide e-content in Hindi language to NCERT for classes 1 to 12, for all subjects. The material will be of high quality and will benefit the children very much.
The material will also be provided for special need children as well as contribute its entirety to the Adult Literacy Mission as well as teacher training, as stated by the HRD minister.
The curriculum modules telecast for classes 1-12 will be available from July 2020, through 12 national Television channels of NCERT.
Nishank said, "The content is currently available in Hindi and Punjabi and hence shall be implemented across 12 states benefiting about 10 crores students. The intellectual rights to the content will be available with Rotary and provided to the NCERT so that the content can be translated to all regional languages by NCERT and SCERTs of respective states in the coming few months."
