The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has announced on July 2, 2020 to postpone the class 10 and class 12 examinations.

Following the parents' demand countrywide for the postponement of examinations, NIOS took this move.
NIOS Director (Evaluation), B Venkateswaran said in a circular released that the examinations are cancelled till the further orders due to COVID-19 spike in cases.
Earlier this week, the board also issued a circular which stated that Class 12 students with special needs will be evaluated on the basis of project work, instead of public examinations in July 2020.
Adding to this, NIOS also postponed practical exams and said to release detailed guidelines for the evaluation soon.
