Days after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) confirmed the cancellation of the CBSE 10th CBSE 12th pending Board Exams in the Supreme Court, many students of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) across the country are also hoping for the cancellation of the NIOS 10th and NIOS 12th exams.
According to the NIOS 10th Date Sheet 2020 and NIOS 12th Date Sheet 2020 the 10th 12th Board Exams are scheduled for July-August.
While the open schooling institute postponed the practical exams for NIOS 10thand NIOS 12th classes due to the increase in the novel coronavirus cases in the country, students are wondering if their 10th 12th theory exams would be postponed as well.
NIOS, an "Open School" caters to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level. Over 3 lakh students in the country are to appear for NIOS Board exams, scheduled from July 17, 2020 to August 13, 2020.
NIOS, in a statement issued by B Venkateswaran, Director of Evaluation, stated, "Due to the increase in coronavirus cases across the country, NIOS' rescheduled practical examinations from July 2 to July 10, 2020 are postponed to further orders." However, the Board is quite concerned with the theoretical examinations.
This left the students all the more anxious. Not just are they wanting the cancellation of their theory exams but are also urging the board to promote them.
NIOS Board Exams 2020: Specially-abled students more concerned
The parents of specially qualified students attending the exams shared the challenges they are likely to face during the examination process.
Parents revealed that it would be difficult to find scribes for their specially trained students in the coronavirus scare.
Even if they find scribes, their children will have to sit close to them, which would compromise the norm of social distance, putting their lives at stake.
They also requested that all NIOS Board students be promoted on the basis of their Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA).
NIOS Results 2020: 10th 12th Results delayed
With postponed NIOS 10th 12th exams, NIOS 10 Results 2020 and NIOS 12th Results 2020 would be delayed as well.
The continuous postponement and delay are creating a sense of anxiety and stress among students. It is expected that NIOS would come up with a plan regarding the exams and delayed results soon.
