NMC Announces Deadline for MBBS Students from Abroad for Rectification of Certificate Issues

New Delhi: The Examination and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has identified several discrepancies in the eligibility certificate applications submitted by MBBS students studying abroad. Earlier, the commission had announced that around 972 students had been admitted to foreign medical colleges without obtaining their eligibility certificates. 

The official notice released by NMC states, “It is observed that applicants whose name is mentioned in Annexure-I have proceeded abroad without obtaining an Eligibility Certificate. Therefore, it has been decided by the Board to give 10 days to all such applicants (Annexure-I) to submit their applications in the eligibility portal of NMC."

After this, the NMC had scrutinized the applications and had come to notice the discrepancies in the applications submitted. The commission has given 3 days to these students to rectify the problems in their application forms. 

It must be noted that if you fail to rectify the discrepancies in the application forms within the given deadline, the application form will be subjected to disqualification. 

"The requirement of taking an Eligibility Certificate before proceeding abroad has been dispensed w.e.f the declaration of result of NEET-UG 2019 vide public notice dated 05.04.2019 and accordingly after 05 June 2019, qualifying NEET-UG Exam has been made mandatory and shall be deemed to be treated as an Eligibility Certificate for Indian/OCI citizen intending to take admission in MBBS or equivalent Medical Course in any Foreign Medical Institution," the notice further added.
