The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct CUET UG 2026 in Computer-Based Test mode from May 11 to May 31, 2026. NTA released a public advisory on May 7, 2026, outlining mandatory dress code and permissible items for all candidates appearing at examination centres.

CUET UG 2026 is India's unified entrance test for undergraduate admissions across participating universities. The exam will be held in CBT mode across multiple centres in India and 15 cities outside India. Candidates must strictly adhere to the new guidelines to ensure smooth examination conduct.

Permitted Items at CUET UG 2026 Exam Centre

Candidates can carry one transparent water bottle without labels or opaque plastic. Articles or objects of faith are allowed, subject to reporting at the centre well in advance to enable frisking.

Religious threads such as kalava are explicitly permitted by NTA. Candidates must inform examination staff about faith-related items during check-in to avoid delays.

Dress Code Guidelines for CUET UG 2026

White light clothing is preferred for all candidates appearing at exam centres. Candidates are allowed to wear woollens if needed, subject to reporting to the centre in advance to enable frisking.

Normal shoes, slippers, and low heels are the preferred footwear for exam day. Candidates should avoid metallic items, heavy jewellery, and accessories that may trigger security concerns during frisking.

Strictly Prohibited Items at CUET UG 2026

Electronic gadgets including mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and earphones are strictly prohibited inside examination halls. Calculators, pen drives, and any recording devices cannot be carried to exam centres.

Stationery items such as papers, notes, books, pencil boxes, geometry boxes, pens, scales, and erasers are not allowed. Wallets, bags with metallic items, and any suspicious accessories must be left outside the examination hall.

Important Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates must carry their printed admit card and valid photo ID proof to the examination centre. Reporting time is mandatory 2 hours before the scheduled exam shift to complete frisking and verification procedures.

Candidates should arrive early to avoid last-minute rush and ensure smooth entry into the examination hall. NTA examination staff will conduct thorough frisking of all candidates as per security protocols.
