The Odisha Higher Education Department (HED) has released the Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (CPET) 2026 state-wise merit list for postgraduate admissions on the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal at pg.samsodisha.gov.in. The merit list went live on July 2, 2026. Qualified candidates can now check their rank on the official result page.
According to the official notice on the SAMS portal, the state-wise merit list for PG courses for the 2026-27 academic session is now active. The direct rank check link is hosted at resultspg.samsodisha.gov.in. Candidates must enter their chosen subject and CPET hall ticket number to view their position.
Only candidates who scored above the qualifying cutoff in their subject appear on the merit list. The list is used to allocate seats across participating Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in Odisha. The HED has confirmed that the schedule for choice filling of HEIs and subjects will be notified separately.

How to Check the Odisha CPET 2026 Merit List?
Candidates can view their merit rank by following the steps below on the official result page.
- Visit the official result portal at resultspg.samsodisha.gov.in/ResultPG/PGMeritList.
- Select the subject applied for from the drop-down list.
- Enter the CPET 2026 hall ticket number in the required field.
- Submit the details to load the merit rank on screen.
- Download and save a copy of the rank details for counselling use.
What Comes Next in the Counselling Process?
The Odisha CPET 2026 counselling is conducted fully online through the SAMS portal. There is no physical reporting centre for the initial rounds. Qualified candidates must log in to complete choice filling for preferred universities, colleges, and subjects.
After choice filling, the department releases the seat allotment result. Selected candidates then pay the confirmation fee online. Final admission is completed after reporting at the allotted institution with original documents.
