Odisha government has recently announced that it has made a decision to reduce the school syllabus by 30% for the academic year 2020-21 in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
The news has been confirmed by School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash confirmed the news,
Government of Odisha has informed that decision was made on the recommendation of three syllabus committees of SCERT, Board of Secondary Education and CHSE.
Samir Ranjan Dash also stated that due to the pandemic schools across state has been closed since the last five months which has caused a major loss to the time for students.
The minister also highlighted that the postponement of the academic session this year is one of the key reasons for the reduction in syllabus.

Following the decision, Both BSE Odisha and CHSE Odisha are expected to publish the revised schedule for schools based in Odisha.
The revised syllabus will be made available by the education department on BSE(O), CHSE(O) and TE & SCERT(O) official website.
Moreover, the districts education officers and school principals have also been informed to hold classes, be it online or offline, as per the reduced syllabus.
